About the theater

In the summer of 1897, a historic meeting between Konstantin Stanislavsky and Vladimir Nemirovich-Danchenko took place at the Slavyansky Bazar restaurant, which lasted 18 hours. Then it was decided to create the Moscow Art Theater and laid down its basic principles.

Now it is impossible to imagine the world theater without the reforms of the Moscow Art Theater. Throughout its history, the theater set new directions for development in art and public life, discovered new names and served as a model for modern theater.
